Spirit of Tasmania II

Today is the first day of our week long holiday. It started out with a long drive from Hobart to Devonport to get onto the ferry for our trip from Tasmania to Mainland, Victoria. Our boat for the day was the ‘Spirit of Tasmania II’. It was a great trip, with wonderfully clear weather, a nice Porthole Cabin to relax in and time to read, chat and just enjoy the ride!

Twinkle Twinkle Little Star!

Our Night time View

Our Night time View

I thought that I would share a glimpse of our night time view. I have often admired this, however until SZG purchased me my new camera I have been unsuccessful in capturing the moment. The Twinkling lights from the houses and the reflection on the water can be quite stunning.

My Nikon D90 has Landed!

Well I must say that I have been thoroughly spoilt today! After a lot of research and reading. SZG and I have finally decided that we had found the right camera for me! I am very excited that we could agree on which camera would suit my needs best. It has been such an involved process to actually research, review and then make up our minds on what camera would suit my needs now and into the future better. This is one ‘BIG’ purchase which is going to have to do me for quite a long time, so we want to make sure we have got it right from the first moment we purchase this DSLR camera of our choice.

The decision was between the Nikon D5000 which is a great camera and also the NIKON D90, which is another step up from the D5000. Although the D90 is older than the D5000. The D90 is still a better option for a huge variety of options, the best one being that it is a higher end DSLR camera to be buying and will last me – personally – better in the long term.

So SZG took me to the shops to buy my camera. At first I did not realise he was serious about the purchase. I truly thought we were just checking it out in person, rather than via the internet and images only. However the minute the shop staff member gave the Nikon D90 to me to hold I definitely fell in love with the camera and SZG said we were taking it home! I was shocked yet excited at the same time, it was like all my christmases have come at once.

So after arriving home with my new baby, I have been spending a lot of time reading the manual today for the camera, making sure I get the most out of it when I eventually get the battery charged and the memory card formatted for use!

I can’t wait to use this camera. I am so excited!!!!!!! - So here it is for you to see!
