Jah in her Club Netball Uniform
Well today we watched Jah play her final game for OHA Under 11’s Netball team at Creek Road. She did a great job playing this season and has enjoyed it immensely for the most part. The last few weeks we have all taken it in turns to feel sick, so Jah has not always managed to get to every training session, but I think she only missed one or two games for the whole season, so a fabulous effort from her.
Jah still has another three weeks of Schools Netball where she plays for Brighton under 11’s A division Netball team. So now we look forward to enjoying the rest of that season.
The question for Jah now is ‘Do I play Club netball in the Spring roster or not?’ guess time will tell!
Today Jah played her second game with her schools netball team and again they managed to play a great game and win! I can’t wait until I am able to actually go and watch Jah play one of these games. Unfortunately they play from 4-5 pm and therefore at this stage it is when I am normally working. Thankfully we have some wonderful people who are willing to go out of their way and help us out to ensure that Jah gets to training and games, while neither Tata or I are in a position to get her there ourselves.
Thanks a bunch to those who help us, you know who you are and we truly appreciate it!
Well today started out a great day – Not! It started out with little sleep and then Tata staying home from work as he is sick. Thankfully he was able to also have Nik stay home as she too is not good.
Anyway, I spent much of the day out shopping with a good friend of mine. It was a great day and not having any children with us made it a nice change for me. Usually I always have the children with me, so a day without them was most welcomed. We checked out Spotlight, Diva, Your Habitat and a lot of other shops too.
After our shopping spree we drove home and I picked up Jah, before returning my friend home and leaving Jah with her. Jah was to go to Netball to play for the Brighton Maroons today as it is the first day of the schools netball. Yes I know that Jah does not ‘technically’ go to school, but we are fortunate that she is able to join in the local schools team in order to play and enjoy a sport that she loves.
Thankfully, even under dark clouds of threatening rain, Jah played centre position and was captain of the game. The team worked well together and Jah and her team mates managed not only to have fun but to win 8 to 0, which was a great score.
Let’s hope that net week the rain stays away and that the girls also have a great game.
So much has been happening around here lately, that I don’t know where to start. The children have been busy with their extra curricular activities. Jah seems to be very busy with netball. She is training every week and then playing also. This year her focus is on both Club netball and schools netball. I know you wonder how she can be involved in schools netball when she is home educated! Well we have some wonderful friends who have their children in school and they also organise a their schools netball teams for the school roster so Jah plays in their school team, which is pretty awesome. This means that Jah will be training twice a week and playing twice a week, so netball will be taking up Mondays, Tuesdays, and Saturdays around here.
Nik on the other hand has been busy with her girl guide work. She attended guides last night and came home with a great big grin on her face as she had earnt two guide badges from the centenary guide badge series. It is great to see her finally really enjoying something. Every week she is so excited about going and can’t wait to be there. It is amazing how my little girl is growing up so quick!
NIK just loves her older sister and wants to be just like her. All she ever talks about is being old enough to play netball and having fun like JAHG!
So here are some pictures of NIK with the Netball, which were taken when JAHG and her Tata where practicing netball skills this afternoon.
