The me that homeschools is busy writing up lesson plans based around the theme of Antarctica. There is so much to do and lots to learn that I am having trouble narrowing down how to go about it all. I have found some wonderful childrens books based on the history of Antarctica and its explorers, so I will be writing some activities around these.

Already on our list of things to do we have create a map of Antarctica and label all the bases and information features. As well as pretend you are an explorer in Antarctica. Write four diary entries explaining how you feel, what you see, what you eat and your experience / discovery. – Still have to think of some more activities…

I have found some great activity work books for children based on Antarctica, but have to wait until I get some extra money to be able to buy them and use them in the children’s learning.. Hopefully one day soon…
