Feeling better and on the mend… We hope!

Well we are all starting to feel a little better. I guess keeping indoors and away from others has helped to keep us in a warm environment that is aiding our recovery from sickness. Unfortunately SZG has had to go to work. I would have liked for him to stay home for another few more days, but duty called and he had to go to work. Thankfully he is only working a late shift, so gets to sleep in most mornings compared to what he had been able to do. So he is also not getting up and out into the crisp and freezing morning air this week. Which just has to help him a little hopefully to recover from his sickness too.

Since we have been inside for quite a few days now and not going out and enjoying many of the usual activities that we attend each week. We have spent a fair few hours watching documentaries and doing formal school work in the last two days. We have enjoyed learning about Sharks, Crocodiles, Penguins, and Dolphins in our quest to watch a series of National geographic shows. JAHG has also started work on her new maths book ‘Signpost maths’ since she has almost completed the work within her ‘Mighty Mentals’ one. Signpost Maths is a rather colourful and engaging book, that seems to be capturing JAHGS attention the most lately.

JAHG likes the fact that she can use her calculator for cool learning and that the book has different sections dedicated to different aspects of maths. This is great for us as Maths WAS one of the subjects that JAHG expressed as her most horrible subject and not it is the first subject she chooses to do!

NIK is busy playing, learning and enjoying herself. She is growing up too quickly for us, but I guess thats all part of life. She has mastered the Computer, how to log on and use skype all by herself and loves to see if any one is on that she can talk too. She also loves to draw, and is teaching herself how to write. It is such a pleasure to sit and watch her making squiggles on paper and tell us what it is that she has written. Any day now I am confident that she will start to formulate real letters as she moves and grows in her abilities.
