Today we had a family day out at the Brighton Show, just up the road from where we live.
Even though the weather was a tad windy and looked like it could possibly rain, we set out on our day of adventure.
The children loved going on the few rides they chose. Both girls went with ME on the Ferris Wheel. Usually I like these kinds of rides, but it was not until we got up in the air, that I realised just how windy the day was and had I realised before I put us all into the seat, we probably would not have gone on the Ferris Wheel. Thankfully the children enjoyed the ride, NIK was a little worried at times and wanted to get off, but JAHG really enjoyed it. She also liked the views from above. We could see the hole of the Show Grounds from high up top.The girls also went on a number of other smaller rides, and enjoyed them also.
We visited the sheep shearing, checked out the animals, looked at the old engine display and other tractors, fire engines etc. For lunch we enjoyed a Rotary Sausage sizzle and the girls got to buy a show bag each. Personally I could not believe the cost of the show bags and the amount of junk in them, as real waste of money in my book, but the children wanted to get one, so they did.
Thankfully we all had a wonderful time and enjoyed the day out. It is always nice to be able to go and do things as a family and experience quality time together…
Next week we look forward to going to the Hobart Botanical Gardens to for a picnic in the gardens and a look through Government House as they have an open day. Should definately be worth while…
