Today seems to have been one of those days, where anything goes, especially the unpredictable and funny.
It started out fine, as most Saturdays do. It is the first day of school holidays here, with the kids having finished up for second term yesterday. JAHG is so looking forward to finally having finished school for the term and having two weeks off to do what ever it is she chooses.
Anyway the unexpected and funny occurred around 11.30am this morning. The children had asked for a drink and as I ventured into the kitchen from the lounge room, I could see one of the great big Steers from our paddock had found its way into our house yard. It was eating the plants right next to our front veranda!

Wrong side of our Fence!
Now this kind of shocked me as it was so unexpected. The Steers are also HUGE so I was unsure how to herd it back into the other paddock. Anyway after a few phone calls, a local man called Peter, came to the rescue and helped us move the cow back into the paddock. Thankfully the Steer had no real objections and just went quietly.
The children thought it was really funny to see this Steer enjoying eating away at our plants and leaving big hoove marks in the grass.
Eventually after walking the fences perimeter multiple times, we established where the Steer had managed to squeeze its way through to get into the house yard. However how the Steer actually did this still amazes us, but the hoove prints on the house side of the fence ensure we have the right spot even though there is little evidence of any damage to the fence and it is too high for him to have climbed over.
Anyway, made for an interesting day!
Lets hope tomorrow being fathers day is just as eventful, for TATA rather than the Steers!

The wood you can see is the end of our veranda, lets you see just how close he was.
