Who would have imagined that three of our visitors would have arrived at out house all in the one week! But that is exactly what happened and yes we are all excited!
We would like to welcome Flat Oreo who has travelled all the way from Virginia in the USA to stay with us. Flat Oreo arrived on our doorstep on Monday the 18th of July. The very first day Flat Oreo arrived we were about to leave to go out so Flat Oreo joined us on our trip. The weather was cold and the wind chilly, so we did not get to go outside much. Here is a picture of Flat Oreo with Phinee and Nik upon first arrival.
Flat Oreo did manage to get out of the car once on our trip, Just quick enough so that we could take a picture with Phinee and Mt Wellington in the background. Can you see the snow ontop of it? We love to go there in winter and have fun making snowmen and having snow ball fights!
Just as we were getting used to having Flat Oreo around, we would also like to extend a warm welcome to Flat Jo and Roaming Rexy who both arrived on Thursday the 21st of July 2011. Flat Jo has travelled all the way from Illinios, USA, while Roaming Rexy has travelled from the West Midlands in England to stay with us. They both have started to settle in and are looking forward to being about to get out and about. But with so much bad weather since their arrivals, Flat Oreo, Flat Jo and Roaming Rexy have been trying to keep out the rain and acclimatise to our part of the world over the last few days. Thankfully the forecast for the next few days is looking better, so we are hoping to be able to get out and about real soon!
Here are Flat Jo and Roaming Rexy getting to know the girls!
The journey continues….
I am so excited to say that my Camera has arrived Home after going away to get fixed under its extended warranty. Apparently my Nikon D90 needed two new boards replaced inside the camera and that is why the card would not click into place with the camera. So after months of no camera, I am back to my usual photographic self!
Well Flat Nik has also managed to grab a first class trip to the USA via Australia Post. She will be stopping off at Denison, Texas as well as Elgin, Illinios. Flat Nik is looking forward to her adventures. Just like her Flat Sister, Flat Phinee she has taken a map of our State, Tasmania, with her for her host family and also a letter explaining all her favourite things.
Flat Nik wanted to know if she would be able to eat her favourite foods when she got over to the USA. She was worried they would not have Pizza! I assured her that I am sure she will be able to grab some pizza somewhere on her travels!
Don’t forget to write home Flat Nik and send lots of photos!
Flat Phinee is now all tucked up in her airmail envelopes and headed for Höör, Sweden and also Virginia, USA. She has taken with her a map of Tasmania for her host families and also written a letter about herself and her favorite things.
Flat Phinee had this to say before her departure!
It was a little weird in the beginning when I was told I had to become three Flat Phinee’s but now I am used to the idea! I just can’t wait to arrive at my destinations and meet my host families. I wonder if I have to learn to speak another language in order to communicate with my new host families and the people they interact with?!?! I am also not sure where in America the state of Virginia is, Do you know?
Well Flat Phinee I guess you will just have to wait until you land at your new destinations to find out if you need to learn another language, but if you look at the map of America below, you should be able to work out where Virginia is!
