Well to be able to move the bulk of our furniture we decided to hire a Budget 3 Tonne Van and make a few trips back and forth from one house to the other to get the job done. Thankfully we managed to do this without too much rain – it did start to drizzle a little – but everything stayed dry and we moved all the big stuff and almost all the little stuff in the one day while we had the van, which made the whole job so much easier.
SZG also had a friend who was willing to help out, which was great as it meant I did not have to try and push heavy refrigerators, washing machines, driers, beds etc up the 14 stairs that we have to get to the top floor!
We are definitely going to be happy to get to bed tonight... Ah our first night in our new house!
Well today is the day that we were able to pick up the keys to the new house we will be living in. I am sure that it is going to be great to have a lot more room, a double garage, landscaped yard and a large rumpus room to go with it all.
We are also now going to be living on the other side of the Derwent River, so hopefully we will not get a lot of wind like we did at the old house!
I can’t wait until everything is in its place and the old house all but a memory!
Moving things from one house to another,
Oh how much hard work it can be!
Vehicles full to the brim with our belongings,
Inside the old house the mess is all about!
Never ending up and down the stairs,
Gosh I will be pleased when it is all over!
The me that Homeschools is excited about Halloween time coming up!. We have some great stuff planned for Halloween. We just have to get busy baking and creating. I love this time of year and even though we are in Australia and we don’t go trick or treating we do have it as a time of fun for our family.
When we go to the Hobart Botanical Gardens we love to visit all the different areas. However one of our favourite is the Japanese Garden!
