Meditation, Happiness and Gratitude.

Well I have started reverting back to my old ways again. For the past two weeks, I have meditated each day for a minimum of 1 hour a day. Sometimes I manage to do this first thing in the morning, while at other times it is in the afternoon or evening. The most important thing for me is the fact that I have started doing it again. And don’t I feel great!

Thankfully I have kept all my meditation CD’s and books, from when I used to teach Meditation within my classes, so it is just a matter of deciding what way I wish to meditate. The difference it is creating for me –  is immense – as always! I feel more active, less stressed and better able to deal with everything that comes my way. My only thoughts – why did I step away from daily meditation for so long?

Exciting prospects ahead.

The me that Homeschools is excited about the prospect of our upcoming home ed activities between now and the end of the year.

We have some really wonderful activities set for the remainder of 2009. All of which will be a lot of fun and excitement for both the girls and myself. Already I have started to look beyond 2009 into 2010 for new activities to enjoy.  Hopefully with summer ahead we might be able to have a few picnics at various parks during the warmer months.

Inspiration, where have you gone?

The me that homeschools is in need of some inspiration. Today is one of those days where I am lost as to which was to flow the children’s learning. I think we will have one of those days where we just enjoy each others company and read, relax and watch a documentary or two.

A lazy day today after our jam packed one yesterday seems appropriate to me!

Fun at the Beach – Verona Sands

Well today we went down to Verona Sands to visit with some friends of ours. They have a Shack down there and invited us for the day to share in their youngest daughters birthday celebrations.

Even though the weather was a little on the windy and chilly side, we enjoyed the day away immensely. The girls loved being able to ride the bikes up and down the road with minimal adult supervision. We took two walks along the beach. The first one was before lunch and involved us walking along the sand and enjoying the sound of the crashing waves up onto the beach.

We had a BBQ for lunch, which was nice. I tried Sweet Chilli Chicken Sausages for the first time. They are definitely different and can pack some punch, but over all were nice to eat.

Our Second walk was after lunch mid afternoon and involved us taking a walk along the beach again towards some rocks, were the children took the time to go ‘crab’ hunting. They had brought along buckets and the idea was to see who could collect the most ‘crabs’ for the day. It was funny watching the children find them and often not want to pick them up, but in the end both groups had a great collection of ‘crabs’ which they lovingly looked after for a while.

A great day was had by all and we look forward to going back down to Verona Sands one day again soon in a little warmer weather!

Here are some pictures of our day out!

Reflection on our Learning – Family Report Style!

The me that Homeschools is in the process of writing up our latest family report about our home education journey and learning over the last six months. It is amazing to see how much we have done. I struggle when I sit down to try and get everything in order and it is extremely hard to cram everything into two A4 Pages!

Prioritising what might be more important to include is also another struggle as English and Maths are important, but so are all the other wonderful things the children learn along the way.

Guess I could be here for another week or so trying to refine my family report before I submit it – HELP!!
