The Hobart Waterfront has a beautiful series of sculptures that depict Tasmania’s link to Antarctica.
The sculpture below represents Louis Bernacchi taking a self-portrait with his dog Joe and is a tribute to the 1899 British Antarctic Expedition of which Louis Bernacchi was a member.

Surrounding this sculpture are other sculptures depicting the penguins and seals of Antarctica as well as some of the supplies and other animals present on the expedition.

When we were doing our art work the other day NIK decided to create her own Dinosaur. She had a lot of fun cutting and pasting away. I have to admit that the art work is rather ‘scary’ but also kind of cute!
Here it is for you all to enjoy.
